The masterpiece - Esplanade theather

The Esplanade is indeed a magnificent structure, with so much details on it.

Taken from the Esplanade bridge
to try out something different. I like the efferct anyway.

The Spitting Lion

29 August. It has been a while since my last 'night' photo-shooting session. This time, i took a bus to the marina bay area. I reached the place around 10:15pm, because i thought that there will be less crowd on the late Sunday night, but to my surprise, there are actually many photographers(there are many young couples too...), busy taking pictures. First location, i picked the fullerton hotel area, where the famous Merlion is. Sadly, towards 11pm++, shop owners began to turn off the lights, most area become too dark to be shot at. My initial plan was to only take the photos of the Merlion statue, however when i just about finished taking pictures of it, i saw Esplanade theather just opposite the bay, it was beatiful, the architectural details of its roof is so beautiful. Without wasting any time, i wrapped up the session as I decided to change my subject. Forget about the spitting lion statue, i pointed my view at the magnificent Esplanade.
I have used a slower shutter speed to make the shooting water to feel 'mist' like
A close-up shot (it actually struck by lightning a few months back)

the park surrounding the area
I discovered a fountain, i taught it would be nice to have the city as my back drop.

Before and After

I have spent almost 2 months with my cam now. I like it alot, in fact I have tried to bring it along wherever i go. By now, i have captured more than 1000 photos (yeah, most of them belong to the recycle bin). Well, some are worth recueing. I have installed the latest Photoshop and i manage to play with it a little. The objective is to enhance the quality of the images, not to re-create it to look professional. I still wish to take amazing picture without much alteration, thats my ultimate goal. Below are some of the images i 'photoshop' it to look nicer, and therefore giving them a richer finishing. I only used the basic tools like adjustment of exposure, color balance, hue/saturation. I manage to save some of the photos due to over exposure, i realised that the gamma correction helps alot in solving this problem.
P4 : Before (the pic was too over expose and i think i'm able to do something with it)P4 : After (I have adjusted the gamma correction, and i find it handy with over-exposed pics.)

P3 : Before (i feel like the pillow in the back ground a bit distract the subject)

P3 : After (I grayscaled the background to make the subject stand out)

P2: Before (I feel that the picture would be nicher if i give it a more richer color)P2 : After (I have the color balance adjustment to give the subject more 'red', and the sky more 'blue')

P1 : Before (As i have mentioned it in the previous post, the pic was over-expose during the shooting time)

P1 : After (I finally rescued the photo by using the exposure tool, i have adjusted the gamme correction also)
